Wendell Scott Mount

Wendell Scott Mount born September 22, 1962 to J.J. and Bernice Mount at NMH in Havre, MT. Wendell attended Hays Lodgepole High School until the 12th grade, getting his GED later.

    On August 17, 1986 his life changed by the birth of his first love Lanika Dawn. Grandma Bernice was crazy about her babies first born. A year later he was blessed with a son Jordan, followed by his last daughter Shalene. He also raised Jamie and Ashley Smith and Latricia Ramirez. They were his step daughters, but he loves them like his real ones.

    In 1978 he won the high school rodeo team roping, taking them to finals and ended up in 3rd place. The Brockie boys won it all. These boys traveled all over for YRA and highschool, good cowboys. He was an awesome horse trainer and calf roper. Wendell was a seasonal windland firefighter. He later attended Sage Truck Driving School. He later worked construction for Tribal Construction BIA.

    He is survived by his son Jordan “Gorb” Mount of Hays, daughters Lanika and Shalene of Great Falls, MT, Ashley Smith of Havre, MT, Jamie Smith of 3 Buttes, and Latricia (Mike) Haakanson of Malta, MT, brothers Jay W (Mary) Mount of Hays, MT, Harlan (Mary) Mount of Ft Belknap, MT, sisters Brenda Essert of Eagle Child, MT, Carla (Ray) King of Kirkaldie Ranch, MT, Diana (John) Allen of Ft Belknap, MT, Wanda Mount of Hays, MT, Bonnie Mount of Harlem, MT, Grandchildren Jorleigh Mount of Bozeman, MT, Celestian Young, Cody, Ayden, and Bailey Johnson of Columbia Falls, MT, Kansas, Joleen, and Peony of Malta, MT, Tridel, Taleah, Hazel, Mia Jo, Mike of Malta, MT, Kaden, Emma and Miles of 3 Buttes, MT, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt Caroline Brown of Billings, MT, Barbara (Jim) Neeley and Ramona (Dean) Messerly of Hays MT.

    He was preceded in death by his father and mother JJ and Bernice Mount. Brothers Clinton, Johnny Lee, Howard Mount Sr., sisters Anita Haakanson, Linda and Florance Rae Mount, grandparents Joe H and Julia Doney, Robert “Bob” and Estelle Mount, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
