Sherman Jesse Blackbird Horn, 69, passed away October 24, 2022. Sherman was born August 24, 1953 to Jean Blackbird Campbell and Jesse Horn at Fort Belknap Agency. He graduated from Marty Indian School. Sherman served in the US Army and Marines. When he was honorably discharged, he followed in the footsteps of his dad, Jesse, and became a horse trainer in Nevada and California.
Most recently, Sherman was the security guard for the Fort Belknap Council, Central Administration. During the pandemic Sherman was the gatekeeper for the Tribal Office. You did not get past the door until you were cleared by Sherman. He also was the caretaker of the community center.
Sherman is survived by his brothers Elmer Blackbird and Gary Blackbird, numerous relatives throughout Montana and Wyoming, and many Horn children and grandchildren.
