Ross Lee Snell Jr. Mato-Ska White Bear. A traditionalist hi-yoka, fluent Assiniboine talker, beadwork maker, and friend who loved to sing and dance the old ways traditional.
He lived an adventurous life. He loved to tell stories and help in the community as he could. He loved children and donated toys during Christmas to Lodge Pole, his home.
Lee graduated High School in Harlem, MT, then attended college in Flagstaff, AZ, receiving his bachelors and masters degree in business. He worked numerous jobs and as the manager of Fort Belknap Little Milk River Shopping Center. He also became an ordained minister in Mobridge, SD.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ross Lee Snell Sr. and Florine Lodge Snell, a brother Joseph Snell, and adopted brother Toby, and brother Daniel Longtree Snell. Paternal grandparents Richard Dick Snell and Carrie Lemon Snell, Maternal grandparents Robert Bob Lodge Sr., and Winnie WalksSlow Lodge, as well as numerous relatives all greatly missed. Father in law Hurman Red Elk, and Bonnie Clincher, brother in laws Clifford Clincher and Randy Red Elk.
He is survived by his wife Charley Jae Red Elk Snell, brothers Floyd Snell of Missoula, MT, Kenneth Snell of Electric City, WA, and Mike “Birdman” Birdsbil of Wolfpoint, MT, sisters Leona Snell and Francisco of Havre, MT, and Loretta Snell of Havre, MT, aunts Millie Missy Snell of Hays, MT, Missy, Yvonne Lodge Martin of Fort Belknap, MT, Rose Lodge Sullivan of Fort Belknap, MT, uncle Meryl Gray, brother in law Vern Red Elk, nieces, nephews, and their children, many cousins, and relatives.
