Roger Dale Nelson

Roger Dale Nelson of Malta, MT passed away at age 72 at his home on August 26, 2025. Roger was the first of four children born on April 21, 1953 to John and Yvonne (Hoover) Nelson.

Roger loved farming, ranching, and mechanic work, which he excelled at. He could fix almost anything, even old Ford pickups. He was a jack-of-all trades and will always be remembered for his signature blue and white polka dot cap. He retired from Ezzie's Wholesale Inc. in 2019.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents John and Yvonne Nelson, maternal grandparents Cloy and Minnie Hoover, and paternal grandparents Claire (Turk) Nelson and John and Sylvia Kreber, brother Greg Nelson, ex-wife Peggy Eklund, special aunt Lynda Hoover and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Roger is survived by his daughters, Minnie and April, sisters Cathy (Loren) Johnson and Cindy Nelson (Dan Gard), nieces and nephews Leslie (Chad) Simonson, Buckshot Nelson, Chancey (Tia) Watson, Lacey (Ryan) Hodges, Danette (Daren) Anderson, Stacie (Nate) Hould, and very special friends Cliff and Cindi Salveson and family.

He wasn't a big social person and tried to avoid big crowds. He lived each day to the fullest and enjoyed life until his health failed.

A memorial service will be held at the Malta Cemetery for family and friends on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 4:00pm.
