Robert Cochran Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Cochran Jr, affectionately known as "Babe," on March 4th, 2024, at the age of 76. He left this world after a courageous battle with a stroke at The Agency in the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born on December 28th, 1947, to Ola and Bobby Lee, Babe's journey through life was marked by resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning. Having graduated from the boarding school of Shalakoo, Oklahoma, Babe pursued further education at various institutions, culminating in his studies at a Vocational School in Great Falls.

Following his educational pursuits, Babe embarked on a diverse and fulfilling career, leaving an indelible mark on every path he traversed. His dedication and hard work were evident in the numerous jobs and careers he undertook over the years.

In his early years, Babe found love and companionship with Carol Heyoka, with whom he shared the joys and challenges of life. Together, they welcomed four children into their hearts and home: Donald, Stuart, Spencer, and Dominique.

Babe faced the heart-wrenching loss of loved ones, including his parents Ola and Bobby Lee, Henrietta Morin, Avis King, Spencer Lee Cochran, Dominique Cochran, and Carol Heyoka. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by Donald Alan Cochran, Stuart Moses Cochran, Tony Beaudry, Justus Washington, LaQuenae Gardipee, Emmitt Cochran, Dana Woods, Alex Woods, Veronica Cochran, Joseph LeRoy Cochran, Tracy King, Kelly Cochran, Dawn Cochran, Sandra Cochran, and numerous other relatives and close friends.

As we bid farewell to Babe, we remember him not only for his professional achievements but also for the warmth and love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the memories of those he touched.

Pallbearers honoring Babe in his final journey are Robert Drago, Mitchel King Jr, Noah Jackson, Eduardo Velazquez, Craig Belcourt, and Sage Lone Bear.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort to those who mourn his passing.
