Richard Dean Johnson “Cloud Boy” then after his piercing at the Sundance, his name changed to “Cloud Man” was born to Roberta L. Johnson on January 21, 1987 at Northern Montana Hospital. His name came from the actor on MacGyver, which his mother watched faithfully, everyone called him “Mac” from then on. He lived in the valley his first 2 ½ years, then we moved to Newtown, where he lived with his mom, Roberta, dad Doug Sr. and little brother Colby whom he loved dearly and was the only one to call him Keith, which was Colby’s middle name.
He was very helpful and would help out anyone who needed it. He was also good natured, kind, quick to enjoy a good laugh, sing Indian songs, and a very good cook. He danced grass dance, liked to visit with his bro’s, and fish with his children, Jacob, Ethan, and RJ.
His grandparents Edgar and Belva Johnson helped raise him from a little baby to a grown up. He started school at Fort Belknap Head Start, Harlem Grade School until he went to Wahpeton, ND, where he graduated from the 8th grade. He graduated from Harlem High School, he then met Nicole Gone. In this union, he had a baby boy Bheas Gone, and an adopted daughter Janene. After the split, he met Toni Cochran who he was with until his death. In this union he had three boys, Jacob, Ethan, Richard (RJ) Jr., and four step-daughters Josephine, Taiya, Myiah, Amari Longknife. All of them he claimed to be his children and loved them all.
He is survived by: His mother Roberta L. Johnson, dad Doug Messerly Sr., brother Colby Messerly, wife Toni Cochran, sister Joyce Cochran, brothers Doug Messerly Jr., Steven Messerly, and Jeffrey Messerly, adopted daughter Janene Gone, oldest son Richard Dean Johnson Jr., Jacob Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Richard (RJ) Johnson, half sisters Kayla, Khrista, and Klarissa Healy, and Kirk Healy.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Edgar and Belva Johnson, uncle Ronald Moccasin Jr., grandpas Amos Jr, and Frank, great grandparents Amos Nace and Melvina, and other aunts, uncles, and cousins, grandmother Bernice Clark, paternal grandparents Glen and Leona Messerly.
