Richard Cochran

Richard Cochran 74 passed away on August 13, 2026, at the Havre Care Center in Havre Montana.

Richard was born on December 24, 1951, in Ft. Belknap Montana Hospital. When he was five grandma Waverly Kuhnhenn gathered her family and they all moved to Seattle Washington, where his mother Darlene married Charles Houseman and then they moved to Maple Valley Washington. They lived there for five years and then moved to Renton Washington, where Richard went to Elementary School, Junior High, and High School and where he then eventually graduated. After graduation he worked as a laborer at a foundry in Seattle in 1971. Later he moved with his two brothers to Aberdeen Washington, where they worked as loggers for about five years. Sometime later he moved back to Ft. Belknap and joined Dallas Howard‘s Fire Fighting Crew and after that he attended Ft. Belknap College and earned his associates degree. He then moved to Havre for a couple years and worked various labor jobs. After the untimely death of a stepdad Tom Hocking, Richard went to stay with his mother Darlene Hocking for 10 years to take care of her until she passed while he was there. He enjoyed spending time with his mother, going to the yard sales gardening and walking his dog in the park. He then moved back to Ft. Belknap to live out the remainder of his days enjoying his golden years, relaxing.

He was always friendly to people he met, and they always enjoyed his company.

Richard is survived by his three brothers Jay Howard (Bridget), Darby Turntoes (Kathleen), Charles Hocking (Crystal), Uncle Raymond “Wimpy” Kuhnhenn (Krystyna), Uncle Fred Kuhnhenn (Marie) and cousins Sharon, Dennis, Margie (Tom), and numerous other cousins, nephews and nieces

Richard was proceeding is death by Grandfather Lewis Turntoes, his grandmother Waverly Kuhnhenn and his father Curtis Cochran, and step father and Mother Tom and Darlene Hocking.
