Rhonda Isabel Snell

Rhonda Isabel Snell, also known as Cloud Woman (Amáȟbiya Wįyá), peacefully passed away on October 29, 2023, in Havre, Montana, at the age of 65. She was born on January 22, 1958, to Virgil and Marie McConnell at Fort Belknap Hospital, in Fort Belknap Agency. Rhonda was a loving and kind-hearted individual who always went out of her way to help others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Rhonda is survived by her beloved husband, Albert Snell Jr, of Hays, Montana, and her children: Frank (Dane) McConnell of Lodge Pole, MT; Travis (Dorothe) McConnell of Forest Grove, OR; Vincent (Viodelca) McConnell of Eagle Butte, SD; Samantha Duran of Havre, MT; Erik (Shonda) Snell, Isabel Snell, and Jammi Snell, all of Hays, MT, Adopted children Giacamo, Matteo of Italy, She is also survived by her brother, Floyd (Angie) McConnell Sr, of Hays, MT, and sisters: Arleta (Donovan) Plummer of Iowa and Trenda DuBois of Harlem, MT, June Werk OR. Rhonda leaves behind a cherished legacy in her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil (Marie) McConnell, brothers Larry Gunn, Frank McConnell, Virgil A McConnell, sisters Shirley Kirkaldie, and Barbra Plummer.

Rhonda's educational journey led her to obtain her GED. Throughout her life, she held various roles, including bartender, wildland firefighter, diabetes prevention coordinator, and foster parent. She was a dedicated and hardworking individual who approached every task with enthusiasm and determination.

Rhonda found solace and strength in her faith, worshiping at both Catholic and Spiritual places of worship. Her spirituality played an important role in her life and provided her with guidance and comfort. She was a spiritual leader she taught all her children and numerous nieces and nephews to keep our traditional way of life going like she was taught by her parents.

When Rhonda wasn't working or spending time with her loved ones, she enjoyed indulging in her favorite hobbies. She loved camping, fishing, hunting, wood hawking, and finding medicines in the mountains. These activities allowed her to connect with nature and find peace in the outdoors.

A wake in memory of Rhonda Isabel Snell will be held on November 3, 2023 at 5:00pm. The funeral service will take place on November 4, 2023 at 11:00 am Both events will be held at Mission Rec Center in Hays. Final resting place will be at the family grave site on the grade in Hays, MT.

Rhonda will be remembered for her unwavering love, generosity, and dedication to her family and community. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
