Our precious Paige Fae Cochran, “Morning Star Woman,” 22, of Harlem, Montana, passed away on September 14, 2026, in Great Falls MT surrounded by her loved ones.
Paige was born on December 30, 2003, in Havre, Montana, to her parents, Diane “Storm” Fae Johnson and Steve Martin Cochran. She grew up on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and attended Harlem High School before moving to Billings, Montana, where she attended Sky View High School. As the oldest of two children, Paige naturally took on a protective role, especially toward her mother and younger sister, Katie. They were inseparable and shared a bond that carried them through everything, whether they were fighting with each other or standing up for each other. Jason Horseman and his daughter Cassidy came into her life, and through them she experienced and learned more about what family could be.
Throughout her adolescence, Paige was raised by her grandmother, Kathryn Johnson. Their relationship was very special, and Kathryn taught Paige the importance of treating others with love and respect while also honoring her native traditions. Her mother, Storm, was one of her biggest supporters, and the love and kindness she showed Paige became a part of who she was. Paige also had her uncle, Matt “Booboo” Stiffarm, who was there to love, support, and guide her through the bumps along the way. As Paige grew, her family grew too. In 2020, Paige met the love of her life, Christian Martell. Together, they shared six years of love, growth, and learning life side by side. They made memories, tried new things, and stepped outside of their comfort zones together. Paige was never afraid to take chances, and those experiences helped her grow and discover more about herself. Through it all, Christian was by her side, supporting her, loving her, and sharing in the journey.
From a young age, Paige had a big heart and a strong love for the people around her. She was someone who would step in when her family needed her and was always willing to help when she could. Her love for her family grew even stronger as she became an aunt, and her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart. Being a protector and someone her family could count on was a part of who Paige was. She was a beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, partner, and friend who touched many lives during her 22 years with us.
Paige is preceded in death by her father, Steve Cochran; her grandfather, Douglas Johnson; her grandmother, Mary Kay White; her aunties, Bernice Strait, Larina Walker, and Valerie Striker; Uncles, William Stiffarm, Brian Thomas, Garrett Snell, Deland Robertson Sr., and Tyrone Stiffarm; Cousins, Teche Ereaux, Caleb Ditmar, Terrelly Johnson, Jade Wade, and Hunter Strait.
