Malta —Mary Emily Barthelmess (88) surrounded by family passed away on May 26, 2021.
The family will receive friends at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Wilderness Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday June 2, 2021 at the Wilderness Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery, the family requests you join them for a reception at Tin Cup. A live stream of the service may be viewed on Wilderness Funeral Homes facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Hi Line Retirement Center in Malta, MT.
Mary Emily was born July 28, 1932 in Gillette Wyoming to Floyd and Emily Robinson. Mary Emily lived with her family south of Wright Wyoming, and in 1939 the Robinson’s moved to the Cross S Ranch on the Mizpah Creek South of Miles City. After graduating High School in 1952, Mary Emily attended Denver Women’s College. Mary Emily Robinson married Leo Barthelmess on October 16, 1954; out of the marriage came 4 children born: Leo (1955), Chris (1957), Emily (1974) and Marian (1977). Leo, Mary Emily and the boys moved to a ranch near Fort Peck, Montana in the spring of 1960 where they lived until they moved and settled to the Content Community in South Phillips County, Montana in 1964. Mary Emily was an active member of the Daughter’s of American Revolution and Cowbelles, and she spent many evenings with needle in hand creating embroidered work. Mary Emily and Leo moved to Malta in 2011, after Leo’s passing in 2016 family would often hear from friends that they stopped by to see her and that she was out with an active social schedule.
Mary Emily is survived by, Leo & Darla (Ereaux) Barthelmess, Chris & Deb (Morin) Barthelmess, Emily & Scott Arthun and Marian Barthelmess. Her grandchildren are Anna & Cliff Merriman, their children Courtney and Beau, Eric Barthelmess and Scot & Rachel (Nash) Barthelmess and their children Tade, Toby and Maisyn. She is also survived by her youngest brother Jim & Maralee Robinson Survived by close family and friend, Scott (Lisa) Bjornson and Walter "Chip" Gibbs and numerous nieces and nephews.
