Maria Dee Ramirez-Morris, 64, passed away March 16, 2026, at her residence in Malta, Montana. She was born on July 2, 1961 in Butte, MT. Maria obtained her GED. Maria married her love Pete Morris in 1991 and they were married for more than 35 years.
Maria lived in Washington for 30+ years, Missoula for 7 years and came home to Malta in 2021. She worked for United Indian Health Services, dental assistant, GT Development of Washington for 10+ years, and Washington Housing Authority. Maria had two cats, Heffa her one cat is going with her, and Molly. She loved art and driving fast cars. Pete will love her until his last breath; “I want my friends and family to dance and listen to music and sing for me and also smoke with some prayers for my family.”
Upon her unexpected passing, Maria enjoyed the solitude of her home in Malta. Maria stayed close to her immediate family and loved to spend time with her sister, her nieces, her grandchildren and she devoted her time to her beloved cats. Nanette and her daughters helped take care of Maria and she was proud of Taliyah going to college. She was proud of Kayden for going into the military. She was proud of all her grandchildren. Maria looked forward to her phone call she received every morning from her husband Pete, and she indulged herself in natural medicine. She had a wild, crazy life and she liked to drive fast. Maria was loved by all of us.
Maria is survived by her husband Pete Morris of Seattle, Washington, her sister Nanette Mount of Havre, her niece Latricia (Michael) Haakanson of Hays, her niece Jamie (Trent) Welch of Three Buttes, her niece Ashley Smith of Havre, her great niece Taliyah Manuel, her great nephew Kayden (Cassidy) Castillo of Fort Worth, Texas, her beloved cat Molly and her 12 grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her mother Laverne, her grandmother Freda, her siblings Ted, Judy, and Penny Hudson her oldest sibling. Her dogs Peppi and Jamoke, and her cat she loved so much, Heffa.
Memorial donations can be made to Ashley Smith, PO Box 778, Havre MT 59501.
