Linda Siewing, 71, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab Center. A Memorial Service will be held on June 28, 2023 at 10am at Wilderness Funeral Homes in Malta, MT.
Dear Friends,
Many people have wondered why we, Linda and Joshua Siewing, had moved to Ellendale, ND. Roger had lived there in Ellendale while going to Trinity Bible College to get his degree in Bible Education. He graduated in May 1988 and served as a pastor and missionary in the USA and overseas in Taiwan.
After Roger’s death in 2007, Joshua, our son, and I received a call from Roger’s former Professor at Trinity Bible College. He said, “Ellendale would be a nice place to live and to finish raising Joshua” who was 14 years old at that time. So we packed up our things, sold our house, and moved to Ellendale, ND, in 2008.
After her high school graduation, Linda went to the Montana Institute of The Bible College and joined the Bible Center Mission Organizations. During the school years, we had Release-Time Bible Class (a Montana State Law). During the summers we did a clean-up to get camp ready for 8 weeks of Bible Camp. Each week a new group of approximately 120 campers arrived. Then at the end of camp season, we spent a week winterizing the camp for Montana winters.
After 10 years of doing this type of Missionary work, God called me to go to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, to get a B.A. in music. Little did I know I would marry a wonderful man who was a missionary to tie one and I would need a teaching degree to live there in Taiwan. Two years after we were married, our bundle of joy, Joshua Aaron, was born in Taiwan.
When Roger came down with medical problems we had to make an emergency trip to the USA for better medical needs and care. It was then that we moved back to the USA because of his health needs. We then went under Intercultural Ministries as Missionaries to the Rocky Boy Indian Reservation. Joshua was a huge help with the children at Junior church, encouraging others, cleaning the church, and baking cakes for the children's and adults’ potluck dinners. We were there for nine years before Roger went home to be with the Lord in 2007. Joshua’s dad was a wonderful father and taught him many wonderful virtues and how to live a good and Godly life.
We have moved to Aberdeen, SD, because of Linda’s many health problems and her need to be closer to the hospital, her many doctor appointments, and dialysis which was three times a week. Also, she had developed a rare blood condition in which scar tissue keeps growing in the heart arteries blocking the blood flow. She had 11 heart attacks. Only 1% of the people have this problem in the USA.
She had an amputation of the right foot and leg, diabetes, and kidney failure. She needed a caretaker so Joshua had agreed to graciously do this for the time being. He has done an awesome job and Linda was thankful for Joshua’s help, kindness, and willingness in giving help to her.
Please keep Linda’s family in prayer as they make some changes for their future. Thank you so much.
In God’s care,
Linda Siewing and son, Joshua Siewing.
