Lillian Alice Knuth was born in the home of Herman and Mary (Hess) Knuth October 15, 1927 at Forks Mt. north of Saco between Frenchman Dam and Whitewater. The 3rd of 4 Children.
She attended grade school at the Tollefson and Flat Rock Schools. Graduated from Saco high School in 1945.
Married the love of her life Ernest (Ernie) Olson September 14, 1945 in the little white Church in Malta. They met at a dance during her senior year of High School. Ernie left for the Army in April 1945, came home on leave September 7th and married on the 14. Honeymooned for a week and left for a year to Japan. Many love letters were sent back and forth.
Lillian worked in the Clerk and Recorder office in the Court house in Malta while Ernie was overseas. Later she worked in the abstract office and the SCS office a short time,
She taught piano lessons for several years and volunteered at the Good Sam and Hi-line retirement center playing piano and Violin. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and was the organist there for many years. She also counted votes at election time for several years
The reunited couple lived in Roundup Mt. for a short time while Ernie worked in the oil field. They spent most of their life in the Strater Community. In 1973 Lillian drew up the plans and designed her own house, which she always said was the perfect house.
One of her hobbies were making family trees and picture albums for all of her children.
She was an excellent seamstress, a homemaker in every sense of the word.
They raised 6 children of whom she was very proud of. Paulette (Richard) Spencer, Angelia (Michael) Robards, Larry (Eva) Olson, Darrell (Vicki) Olson, Debra (Keith) Pankratz and Patrick (Rose Ann) Olson.
She has 19 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great great Grandchildren. One surviving sister Rosemary Betson and one Sister in law Mary Eklund
Preceding her in death, her parents, husband, siblings Herbert (Jackie) Knuth, Fayetta (Cliff) Dull, Brother In-law Donald (Jean) Olson, sister in-law Irene (Cliff) Hack and Norma (Clarence) Kiern. Two Grandson's Lawrence Rowe and Shad Spencer.
