Lila Isabel Werk

Lila Isabel Werk “Moose”, 60, passed away at her home in Hays MT on 12/6/2022.

Lila was born on 02/9/1962 to Luella (Nezperce) and Elwood “Woody” Werk. Lila was a part of the first Head-Start program around 1969. Her parents moved the family to Glasgow for employment. They moved back to Hays in 1974. She then received her high school diploma from Hays.  Lila also attended college for a year.

She me Jorge Granados and the couple had 5 children together. Jennifer, Jorge, William, Jared, and Jeana.  She later gave birth to her baby boy Kyle Stanley. She raised her kids in Great Falls for a few years. They moved home around 1997. She started a job at the Fort Belknap Tribal Courts as a court clerk.  She worked there for numerous years.  She later transferred to the Personnel department at the Tribal Office. She worked other jobs as well. She took pride in her work.

She like to attend pow-wows, camping fishing dancing music, and having family get togethers. She was an outstanding pool shark, that’s how she got her nickname “Moose”.  Lila loved spending time with her grandchildren. You could see the hearts in her eyes while adoring them. She always made sure everyone was fed clothed and sheltered.

She is proceeded in death by  Luella and Elwood Werk, Annie (Nezperce) Snow, Isabel Garidpee, Willie Deschon, Carol Deschon, Caroline Nezperce, Dennis Nezperce, Moses Nezperce, Jorge Granados, Mike Werk, Edwin Werk, Clayburn Grant, Mitchell Grant, Ljay Werk, Dale Solomon, Gevi Nezperce, Matthew Weaving, Jamie Nezperce, Caroling Nezperce and Special friend/sister Dorothy Sanches.

She is survived by her children Jennifer Granados, William (Iona) Granados, Jared Granados, Jeana (Tom) Granados, Kyle (Delilah) Stanley, and Aleena Walker.  Grandchildren Ashton, Baby Will, Estevan, Kati, R.J., Donovan, Jacob, Wiley, Vinny, Cadence, Kirah, Makyla, Karsin, Sienna, and T.J. Her siblings June Werk, Diane Werk, Jeannie Nezperce, Anna Werk, Ivan Werk, Charlotte Werk, Joe Werk, and Laurence Werk.  Her special friends Roseann Cochran, Beth Pitzer, Maggie Werk, Lana Stuker, and many more.
