Lester R Wiebe

  Lester R. Wiebe, 84 years, passed away Thursday, June 20th at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Montana.

     He was born August 11, 1939 in Wolf Point, Montana. The son of Arnold and Olive Wiebe. He attended school in Wolf Point schools and graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1958. He served in the Montana National Guard for 6 years, then he met the love of his life in Malta, Sandra Lundman. They were married on April 5, 1964. They celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year. Lester worked for the State Highway Department for 17 years. They lived in a number of locations until settling in Malta in 1969. After the highway department he went into general contracting for numerous years.

     He enjoyed reading the Bible and hearing the word of God, fishing, birds, family and taking care of the yard. He also really enjoyed pulling pranks when it was good clean fun.

     Lester is survived by his wife, Sandra; Son, Kevin (Barb); Son-in-law, Walt Pekovitch; grandkids, Colten Pekovitch, Corrine (Scott) Hould, Kalen (Abby) Wiebe, Brett Wiebe and three great grandchildren; and his brother, Richard (Linda) Wiebe. He was preceded in death by two infant children; Corrine and Michael; daughter, Lona Pekovitch; parents Arnold and Olive Wiebe; brother, Harold Wiebe.

     Memorial Services will be 11:00 on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Wilderness Funeral Home in Malta. Interment of the urn will follow the service in the Malta Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Malta Community Church. Condolences may be left at wildernessfuneralhomes.com.
