Laura Belle Hasler, age 95, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Mount Vernon, Ohio at a nursing home with her daughter, Paula by her side. Laura was born on October 12, 1929, in Malta to Carl and Sarah Vogt. She attended schools in Strater and Malta where she remained for most of her life until she moved to Mt Vernon, Ohio to a retirement facility when the nursing home in Malta closed.
She met the love of her life, Bud Hasler and they were married on July 31, 1947. Four children were born to this marriage, John, Paula, Wade and Debra. Laura Belle worked most of her married life at various restaurants in Malta and also at the Good Samaritan retirement home.
Laura Belle enjoyed playing cards, camping, traveling on the wagon train, hunting with Bud, and enjoyed it when her kids and grandkids would come to visit. They were faithful in the Malta Lutheran Church. Laura was a private person but yet a little feisty when pushed to that point.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband Bud, daughter in law Gloria Hasler, son in law Ed White, grandson John Colin Hasler, great grand daughter Teresa Mora, brother Carl (Jerry) Vogt, her parents and stepmother Bella Sawyer, her in laws and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Laura Belle is survived by her sons John and Wade (Betty), daughters Paula White and Deb (Joe) Crain. Her grandchildren: Ginetta (Trent) Frost, Lori (A J) Keller, April Ritchey, Lanny (Tracy) White, Tangi (Leanna) White, Chad (Kamee) Hasler, Jory Hasler, Chelsea Hasler, Paula (Mike) Collett and Kellee (Brandon) Espersen. And her great grandchildren: Ali and Hunter Frost, Raynee and Lane Hasler, Nick and Jake Kellar, Alex, Blake and Cole Hanson, John Thomas and Olivia Ritchey, Gavin Edward White, Josie and Brett Hasler, Lani Hasler, Jewel, Jenna and Jordan Flansburg, Dante Collett, and Eastyn, Oakley, Adysen and Georgia Espersen and a great great granddaughter Rylan Hanson. Also a half sister, Paulette Leo.
A celebration of life will be held June 21 at the Malta Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m.
