Larry Robert Simpson

Larry Robert Simpson, 85 died Monday October 9, 2023 at Frances Deaconess Hospital of natural causes. Larry was born in Malta Montana and attended Bowdoin Country School. 

Larry married Phyllis Mae Hanson June 2, 1959 in Malta and they made their home in rural Saco. He was a rancher, dad, grandpa, son, uncle and cousin to many. They raised their three boys Clinton, Audie and Larry Ross on the ranch and later helped raise grandkids: Amber, Lindsey, Brennan, Ashten and Laynee.  Larry was the last surviving child of Walter and Grace Simpson.

In his younger years he worked for area ranchers including Stiles family, Salisbury family, and later on the Cornwell ranch and the Robinson ranch. He loved to help anyone and was a good neighbor to many.

He was always proud of his family.

One of the best times in Larry’s life was the ‘Big Drive of 89.  He started at the Canadian line went all the way to Roundup and continued on as part of M 89 Cattle Drive all the way to Billings.  He was proud to have his covered wagon in the circle at the Metra.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Phyllis, parents Walter and Grace Simpson, brothers Clarence, Elwood and Irvin; Sisters Hazel and Myrna.

Larry is survived by sons Clint (Janna), Audie (Liz) and Larry Ross (Jody). Grandkids, great grand kids and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 @ 2:00 P.M. At the Saco Cemetery.
