Kathleen Shawn Wimmer

Kathleen Shawn Wimmer passed peacefully in her sleep March 4, 2026, at home in Malta. She was our stubborn, joyful and beautiful Leenie-kins. Born to John and Phyllis Wimmer in the summer of 1969. She lived her independent and blessed life despite having down syndrome. It was never her disability, but rather her superpower! Her courageous and at times difficult journey was filled with love and the support to live her best life. As a young woman she participated in Special Olympics, rode her bike and enjoyed interacting with this wonderful community. She loved 80's music, movies and tv shows, especially her beloved Golden Girls. She entertained us with her funny phrases! She was always a light in every life she touched. She is survived by many, but deeply missed by the people who she touched the most; sisters Nancy and Mary, her brother Roger, her niece and caretaker Ashley (Anthony, Asa, Malachi), her sister Patty, her brother Lyle, as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. We will miss you forever girly, but your light will shine on in our hearts. Fly high and be our guardian angel forever. You will be remembered. We adore you.
