Julisa Marie Plouffe, 42, of Malta, Montana passed away on July 11, 2026.
Born on Labor Day, September 5, 1983 to Scott and Giovanna Simanton (Panzarella), Julisa grew up surrounded by family. She married the love of her life, Shane, in 2018 and shared a life filled with love and support.
Julisa had a deep love for the arts. Reading was one of her greatest passions. She would easily be reading 5 books simultaneously, at any given time, and her home library had hundreds of books. She founded a wildly popular and successful Book Club in Malta. She enjoyed sketching and loved gifting people her drawings. She enjoyed films and television series, mostly sticking to the classic movies of the 80s and 90s and reruns of Law and Order and Gilmore Girls. Her music taste was about as wide-ranging as any. Part of the fun was never knowing what would play next on one of her perfectly-curated playlists that matched her mood, the occasion, or her present company.
Julisa found great purpose and fulfillment in her career as a dispatcher for the Phillips County Sheriff’s Department, where she proudly served her community with pride and dedication.
A proud aunt to Rose, Enzo, and Colson, she would beam any time she was around them and had a genuine talent for finding the best gifts.
She is survived by her loving husband Shane, her parents Scott and Gina, her brother Jon (Kelly) and their two children Rose and Enzo, her sister in law Stacie (Kale) Sallee and their children Adam and Amy, her sister in law Amy and her partner Cathy, her brother in law Mike (Jamie) and nephew Colson, and many aunts and uncles including Robin Losleben (Simanton) and John Smith, Steve (Wendy) Simanton, Spencer Simanton, Bob (Mona) Simanton, Leo (Andrea) Panzarella, Jimmy Panzarella, Renee (Richie) Hudson, Linda Panzarella and Janet Hurt. She also left behind many other beloved family members and so many close friends who helped shape her life.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bob and Laura Simanton, Mario and Frances Panzarella, Aunt Lee Panzarella, and Robert Simmons “Poppa Smurf.”
A time of remembrance for Julisa will be held Friday, July 17 at 6:30 pm at the Malta Lutheran Church. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 am at the Malta Lutheran Church with a reception to follow at the Tin Cup.
