James A. Thompson, 91, passed away peacefully at Northern Montana Hospital on November 23, 2023. James was born in Fairview, MT to William and Vivian Thompson. He graduated Fairview High School in 1950. He attended MSU Bozeman and graduated with a degree in Biology. He then went on to get his teaching certificate. He also had a master’s degree in School Administration. He moved to Harlem, MT where he met the love of his life, Raye Durocher. They were married in 1964. They had two children, Michael (Lena) Thompson, and Leigh (Leonard) Hofer. Jim and Raye were married 57 years. They enjoyed traveling and golfing. They had two grandchildren, Brittney Hofer, and Alyssa Hofer. They had three great grandchildren, Zaiden, Xiyah, and Lydia Hebner. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and siblings. Per Jim’s request, no services will be held.
