James Gallus

James S. (Jim) Gallus, age 80, passed away at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home on June 22, 2024, after his battle with cancer.

According to his wishes, no services will be held. His ashes will be interred at Kuper Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

Jim was born February 28, 1944, to Dr. Edward J. and Viola M. (Simenson) Gallus in Havre, Montana. He was raised and educated in Chinook. After his high school graduation in 1962, Jim had a variety of jobs. He worked for a construction company and was a carpenter and handyman. Jim developed a passion for golf. He played golf, watched it on TV, and his final job was groundskeeper for the Chinook golf club for several years.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Edward, in 1991 and his mother, Viola in 2005.

Jim is survived by his son, Randy of Florida and his daughter, Dr. Jillian Lampert of Minnesota. He is also survived by brothers Donald E. Gallus and Robert C. Gallus of Chinook, sister Patricia A. (John) Gray of Tumwater, Washington, and brother Michael L. (Linda) of Clifton Springs, Australia.
