Bud (James Fleury Buck) Taw’gsa To’wica (Blue Hail Stone) started his journey home February 24, 2025.
Bud was born December 10, 1993 in Havre, MT to Gina-Leigh Buck and Robert Stiffarm Jr. Bud grew up on the family ranch with grandparents Duane Sr. and Linda Buck, who formally adopted him when he was a small child, following an Assiniboine tradition of raising their first grandson.
He attended Harlem Public School, graduating in 2012. While in high school, he competed in sports, basketball being his favorite, which he excelled in. Bud attended Salish Kootenai College, graduating in 2017, and obtaining his Heavy Equipment Certificate and CDL. His biggest accomplishment was the birth of his son, Ashton Blue Buck, whom he is very proud of and loves very much.
Bud was an avid horseman, competing in endurance races with his late brother Jonah. His biggest passion was team roping. He eventually took up the life of ranching.
Bud leaves behind his son Ashton; mother Gina; sister Tylee; nephews Archer and Raycn; brother Richard; father Bob Stiffarm; grandparents Duane Sr. and Linda; uncle Duane Jr. (Chrissy); sister Derien Blackcrow (Cody); brother Gabriel; special friend Melissa Yazi of Arizona; numerous grandfathers and grandmothers, Kathy Hawley, Jolene Buck Dillon, Diane Buck, Grace Gillette, Faye Filesteel, grandpa Med Buck (Terry), Frank Plumage (Marge), Bebianna Capture, Roberta Windchief, the Alvin Bruce Iron Family of Soap Creek, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
