Havre, Montana resident Jack Edward Emard, 84, passed away November 17, 2023, at home in his own bed.
No service will be held as he had chosen cremation years ago. However, a personal “celebration of his life” will be held in the Spring of 2024 at his home.
Jack was born February 19, 1939 in Aurora, Illinois, to George and Clara Vannoy. He graduated from Whittier High School in 1957 at which time he enlisted in the Air Force and served a total of 27 years, between active duty and reserves combined. He married Pamela Dianne Dishman on December 30, 1993 in Lodi, California, nearly 3 years after their first meeting on active duty during Desert Storm. “I owe my heart to you, and that’s sayin’ it true.”
He and his wife moved to Montana in 2005, shortly after retiring from working for (CALTrans) the Department of Transportation for 37 years in California, to enjoy the outdoors sporting life of hunting and fishing.
Jack was a lifetime member of the NRA, and his hobbies included line-control airplane building and stunt flying, reloading ammo shells, pitching horseshoes, gardening, and playing with his Boston Terriers.
Jack’s family agrees that, love for his family, country, and his generosity and kind heart was admired by those who knew him. He lived his life with integrity and honor.
He is survived by his wife Pamela, Sister Georgette Whitten, Nephew Branden Shaw and his wife Kelsey, and their two children Lennox Little and Ashton Shaw. The family asks that donations are made to the Humane Society of the U.S. in Lieu of flowers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Home.
