Glenn Hawley Obituary

Glenn Bernard Hawley passed away in his home in Billings Montana on September 16th, 2022 of natural causes.

He was born November 14th, 1955 to David Hawley Jr. and Virginia (Chandler) Hawley in Ft. Belknap Montana. He was born premature and spent the first 11 months of his life in an incubator, even having a few roommates along the way. He eventually made it home to a dresser drawer his dad had fixed up for him.

Glenn attended grade school through sophomore year at the St. Paul Mission in Hays then moved to Mobridge South Dakota where he graduated high school. He then attended universities in Steubenville Ohio and Albuquerque New Mexico.

Glenn met Jeanette (Herman) Hawley in 1983 at Wally's Cafe in Harlem and got married in 1985. They had two children Levi and Lisa.

Glenn had many jobs over the years and lived in many places. He made many friends that he considered his family. Glenn made it easy for people to be themselves around him and was always ready to have a good laugh and reminisce about the old days. He was very caring and would give you the shirt off his back and always wanted to make sure everyone he knew had what they needed even if that meant he went without. He enjoyed being outdoors and traveling with people, especially with Lisa and her two girls Makayah and Mashayla. He was a good cook and there are recipes that just won't be the same without him. He would really enjoy seeing us all coming together today to remember him and eat some good food.

Family was very important to Glenn. Not a day went by when he didn't talk about his relatives and the memories they shared.. He was preceeded in death by his mother Virginia (Chandler) Hawley and father David Hawley Jr., his grandson Colby Cole Hawley, brothers David A. "Buzzy" Hawley, Ronald Hawley, Raymond Chandler Sr., and Philip "Knobby" Stiffarm, his sisters Sylvia Hawley, Gloria Jean Hawley, and Linda "Susie" Chandler, Al "Dudley" Stiffarm, and many other adopted family members.

He is survived by his son Levi (Carrie) Hawley, daughter Lisa (Matthew) LaForge, his granddaughters Makayah, Mashayla,  and Juliann. Jeanette (Herman) Hawley and the entire Herman family. His brothers Vincent "Pancho" Hawley,  Francis "Cisco" (Francine) Hawley and his sisters Elouise Geiser, Sharon Hawley,  Nadine ("Booman") Jackson, Krystal (Jim) Fox, Boppers Shortman, and many nieces, nephews and adopted family members who he loved greatly.
