Geraldine Snell Doney passed away peacefully at her home in Harlem, Montana. She was 96 years young. Geraldine was born on January 23, 1926 to James and Azalea Snell, in a little ice house, in LodgePole, Montana. She was raised in Hays, Montana where she attended and graduated from the Mission School. This is where she met and married George Doney on February 26, 1946. They made their home in Chinook, Montana where they raised 8 children together until George’s sudden death in December 1967. In 1970, Geraldine met and bought a business in Box Elder, Montana with Perry Neiss. From there they moved to Billings, Montana and then to Harlem, Montana where she became a long time Foster Grandparent at Ft. Belknap Head Start. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband George; sons Chuck, Dusty, Robin, and Jerry Joe; daughter Dolly; grandchildren Robin Gail, Denice, Joey, Marty, JJ, Thomas, and Travis; and her long time partner Perry. She is survived by her three children, Lila, Ilene, and Frisco; her two sisters Rosemary and Lois; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Geraldine had a big generous heart and could be counted on for giving hugs, advice, and support to those in need. She was precious and dear to many and will be greatly missed. MOM, although we are devastated and heartbroken and have to live on without you, we know you will be watching over us and waiting for us at the Gates of Heaven when it is our time. Our family will then be whole again. Love you Lila, Ilene, and Frisco.
