George "Jake" Alvin Siebrecht

George A. “Jake” Siebrecht, 80, died on July 14, 2024 in Malta. Jake was born April 4, 1944 in Malta and lived there his entire life. He attended Malta schools and then joined the Army at 17, during the Vietnam War. He married Punkey Munroe in 1969 and again in 1978. The couple had four daughters – Angel, Tami, Aurora and Ariel.

Jake and Punkey owned and worked at two ranches. Jake also worked at Equity Co-op until his retirement, when he returned to the farm full time. Jake also took in small engine repair at the farm and charged very reasonable rates. Jake and Punkey milked 10 cows by hand, morning and night along with raising beef cattle and alfalfa. Jake loved working with small engines. He said he could always tell what was wrong with them and they never argued or talked back (not much anyway!) He was, as I’m sure people in Malta know, very handy. He was even tempered and always willing to help. He was good and kind hearted and loved God.

Jake is survived by his wife Punkey; a sister Sherry (John) Demarais of Malta, brothers John in Indiana and Lee in Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends – Roy (Marilyn) Taylor, Jack (Monica) Halbert, Gordon (Mimi) Mecklenburg, all of Malta and Ronnie Smith of Miles City.

He is preceded in death by close friend Ronnie; his four daughters; his parents Art and Verniece (Niecy) Siebrecht; and sister Deloris.

Everyone is invited to attend the graveside service with military honors for Jake on his birthday April 4, 2025 at 2 PM at the Malta Cemetery. Jake’s ashes have been spread at the farm.
