Delilah Haney Obituary

Being well cared for in the Hi-Line Retirement/Nursing Home in Malta, MT  Dee Haney 82, passed away on Thursday, September 2nd of natural causes associated with dementia.  A service in her honor is planned on Friday, September 24 at 3:00 p.m. in Belt, MT at St Mark’s Catholic Church.  Delilah (Dee) Barnett was born December 6, 1937, in Great Falls, MT to Margaret & Charles (Chester) Barnett.  Dee was the last of eleven children.  Her father died at age 45, so Dee never knew her father . After Junior High, Dee and her mother moved to Somers, MT.  She attended Flathead County High School in Kalispell; was a part of many musical school clubs, and graduated in 1955.  While working in a restaurant in West Glacier, Dee met Guy Haney, the love of her life.  They married in Great Falls, where they would soon start their family.  Guy was a mail carrier, but later joined his dad in the family construction business, while Dee was a homemaker and raised their five children.  Due to the construction jobs, the family moved multiple times, but eventually made Belt their home base where all 5 kids graduated from high school.  After her family was raised, Dee worked at the Belt Café, the Belt Senior Citizens center and for a home care company.  She was active in her church singing, quilting, knitting and crocheting hats for the needy. She volunteered as a grandparent aide at the local school, and one year received the Volunteer Award for the Belt Valley Senior Center. She testified to knowing Jesus as her Lord and Savior.   She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, 9 Great grandchildren.        Memorials can be made to Dementia Society of America or a memorial of your choice.
