Connie Shelstad

Connie Shelstad 84, passed away at her home in Pacific Grove, California on March 29th 2024.

Connie was born on Dec 1st 1939 to Leornard and Rosina Shelstad in Malta, MT. She was the 8th of “9” children in the Shelstad family.

Connie lived in Malta, MT for a short time before her father moved the family to Chinook, MT. It was there that she later graduated from Chinook High School. Connie went to work for ASCS in Chinook then moved to San Francisco with her best friend Shirley Mohar. In San Francisco Connie worked as a Book-Keeper, and later Managed 3 large Hotels in San Franscisco and surrounding areas.

Connie ventured forth and moved to Pacific Grove where she earned her CPA Certification and practiced for over 40 years.

After Connie retired, she found purpose in Volunteering her time. She had so much love for animals, so she volunteered at the Animal Shelters, walking the dogs. With the special place in her heart, she would adopt the dogs with disabilities and care for them until the end of their lives. Over time she had adopted 20 plus dogs during her retirement.

For numerous years, Connie also helped and ran a mobile food shelter volunteering and transporting goods to the migrant workers.

Connie’s goal was to help others and she did her entire life. She is and was a Kind, Loving- Soul, she strived to make the world a better place.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Leornard and Rosina Shelstad, her siblings, Leona Teske, Don, Curt, Phyllis Miller, Patsy Mitchell, and Keith.

Connie is survived by her brother John Shelstad of Chinook, MT and sister Betty Morris of Billings, MT. Many nieces and nephews.

The memorial Service will be held on April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at Wilderness Funeral Homes of Chinook. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilderness Funeral Homes.
