Casey Cliff Doney

Casey Cliff Doney, 32, passed away at his residence in Missoula, MT on November 14, 2023. 

Casey was born on November 22, 1990, to Laura Werk and Phillip Doney. He attended elementary school in St. Paul Mission and Jr High in Hays – Lodgepole school. He then transferred to Harlem Jr High where he lived with his aunty Marilyn and Cal Bigby. 

Casey entered Harlem High School; this is where he met his High School sweetheart Jessalyn BearCub. He worked part time at Martin’s Grocery. In 2007 he moved in with his other family Julie and Charlie Kulbeck until he graduated in May of 2009 with honors. 5 months later his baby girl Kaiya was born. 

Casey went to college in Ft Belknap and he also worked at Ft Belknap Detention Center. He moved to Harlem during this time and graduated with his associate degree in health. In December of 2011 his oldest son Jett was born. He then went on to Bozeman to continue his college education in the summer of 2012. From then he decided he wanted to join the Navy. He left for basic training a few days after his youngest son Aiden was born in March of 2013. He was honorably discharged and moved back home to Hays with his family.  

Casey enjoyed spending time with his baby brother Derek. He cherished every moment. His greatest accomplishments are his children Kaiya, Jett, and Aiden. He loved them with his whole heart and was very proud of them. 

Casey moved to Missoula around 2017 where he started working different job opportunities. He wanted to continue his education and become a GRIZ. 

Casey is survived by his father Phillip Mathew Doney, his mother Laura Lynn Werk, his brother Derek Dale (Anita) Doney, his niece Kyree Doney , his daughter Kaiya Marie Doney, his sons Jett and Aiden Doney, Grandmother Gert Werk, aunties Dawn Morsette, Marlene(Mike) Werk, Christine (Billy) Oppelt, Wilma (Kermitt) Morsette, Marilyn(Cal) Bigby, Jennifer Doney, Melissa(Louie) Jackson, Marla(Stan) Roberts, Uncles Clyde(Susie) Werk Jr., William(Daralynn) Werk, Warren Werk, Frank(Danette) Werk, Kenny(Donna) Werk, Dale Doney, Kenny(Marilyn) Doney, Clarence Doney, Brett Doney, numerous cousins, too many to count. 

He is proceeded in death by his sister Mindy Doney, grandfather Clyde Werk Sr., grandmother Elizabeth Doney, grandfather Clifford Doney, uncle Hank Doney, Aunty (Godmother) Carol Riggy Doney, Cousins Willbur Bigby, Kelli Bigby and Theresa Doney. 

Casey was a good man…. He will be greatly missed.
