Carol F. (Seaford) Williams

   Carol Frances (Seaford) Williams, 84, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2022. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM at St Mary’s Catholic Church, burial at the Landusky Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

   Born at home in Ragtown, a mining town North of Landusky on August 29, 1938, she was the 3rd child of Charlie & Anna (Hellie) Seaford. Living in Ragtown until the closing of the Little Ben Mine in 1941 & 1942 when the family moved to the “flats” south of Landusky. On the Seaford Grandfathers homestead.

   After 8 grades in Landusky, high school in Malta, then Libby, she graduated in 1957. She married Richard Messerly and to them was born Anthony “Tony” and Lorna Ann. After divorce she moved to South Dakota for a couple years before returning to Billings and attended Cosmotology School. Her love of being a beautician took her for a couple years to practice in Libby, then finally opening her own Salon in Lakeside in 1969. Where her kids graduated from high school.

   In 1972 she married Dennis Grossman and was widowed in July 1976 when a freak storm caused a boating accident on Flathead Lake.

   Carol competed in Hair Styling Shows for many years from Seattle to Billings and served as President of Montana State Board of Cosmotology.  She continued as a beautician until she married DAN WILLIAMS in 1990 and moved back to her “roots” in the Little Rockie Mountains. She loved the beautiful setting of their home and welcomed the big horn sheep, deer, turkeys, an elk or two, that made their yard a stop off. She and Dan had many happy years taking wagon trips to the Missouri Breaks and thru the mountains; community events and even helped plan the Landusky All School Reunion in 1992, and Seaford reunions at the CC Camp in Landusky.

   She & Dan had a horse and wagon accident in September 1998 where they were both seriously injured. The resulting issues from the accident lasted until her death. Prior to marrying Dan, Carol converted to Catholicism and became active in Cursillo/Step 2 Movements.

   Carol is survived by her husband Dan. Children Tony, Zortman; Lorna Ann (Tik Spady) Big Fork: stepchildren who were wonderful to her, Shane (Mike), Danette (Kurt White) Billings; Shawn (Corrina) Belle Fouche, Del (Tabitha) Miles City, and 13 Grand Children, 20 Great Grandchildren; Sisters LuluBelle Besel and Debbie (John Severeide). Plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Those closest to her who proceeded her in death were her parents, of course. Sister Anna Faye Simms and Brother Leonard Seaford.

    A more determined, stubborn, spirited woman, you’ve never met. She wanted things just so, and worked to get that to happen.
