Brandon Doney Obituary

Brandon Eugene Doney was born on December 7, 1977 at Fort Belknap IHS to Catherine “Crum” Doney and Dale “Caveman” Doney. Brandon or ``Bambam'' to all that loved him, passed away at Hays, MT on September 18, 2022.

Brandon grew up in Hays, MT and attended school at Saint Paul’s Mission School, as well as Hays Lodgepole School. He also attended Anaconda Job Corps where he majored in heavy equipment operations. Brandon was a very talented athlete and excelled in football, boxing, Indian Relays and wild horse racing with his brothers. In his later years, he became a WIldland Firefighter which eventually evolved into his lifelong passion. He was an accomplished sawyer and obtained several other qualifications in the forestry field. Brandon was a man with many talents; he worked on the oil rigs in the Bakken, had his CDL, and also enjoyed working on ranches or the outdoors.

Brandon’s greatest and most loved accomplishments were his sons Kenneth and Darryl. He was so proud to be their father and thought the world of them. His love also extended to his many nieces and nephews as well. There are too many to name, but each had a special place in his heart. Brandon shared his passion for horses with many children and helped them become accomplished cowboys. His no fear, carefree attitude was a source for his friends  to find comfort in.  He often referred to himself as Dr Phil as many confided in him because of his nonjudgmental ways. Brandon had the most generous and soft heart, and was always willing to help out in any way he could. He was known to be the life of the party and one of the toughest men around. He was always willing to help anyone in any way he could and had many “orphans” as he lovingly called them, staying with him at the Crum Den.

Brandon is survived by his bullhead Sara Hawley, sons Kenneth, Darryl and Xavier, mother Catherine “Crum” Doney, dad Thomas Manuel, Aunts Karlene Cochran, Anna (Bill) Main, Mary Jo (Mike) Gray, Bonnie Miller and Karen Hawley, Uncles Ervin (Rhonda) Doney, Sr. Billy Doney, Bobby Doney, Brothers Johnny Lee (Oshauna) Manual, Sheldon (Sunshine) Doney; sisters Jessie Manuel, Mel (Johnny) Hughes, Des (Howdy) Mount, Courtney Cochran, Daleyn Doney, and many others who he called his brothers and sisters.
