It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend; Beverly Ann Bell Brown 77, passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2025 at Great Falls Benefis hospital of natural causes.
Beverly was born on April 30, 1948 at Fort Belknap Agency Hospital to Joseph Bell and Vernie Chopwood Bell. Her family includes Robert Healy, Alpha Stiffarm, Florence Helgeson, Linda Bell, Benny Bell, Kathy Plain Feather, Jerome Bell, and Belva Bell. She raised Linda Quincy and Matthew John Bell.
She grew up south of LodgePole on a ranch with cattle, horses, pets were dogs, cats, and horses. The home site has a beautiful orchard of apple trees, lots of water, nestled in the Little Rocky Mountains.
Beverly attended and graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts High School at Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Beverly worked for the LodgePole Senior Citizens Center in LodgePole for five years before she retired to stay home and help her husband with fencing contracts. Perry was a master of building fences for different organizations and ranches. Beverly was strongly involved in the traditional ceremonies of the sun dances, hand games, sweat lodge, pipe ceremony and annually summer celebrations.
Beverly was the heart of our home and family. Buff dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family and grandson. Buff's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her homemade dinners, pastries, and homemade bread were eagerly anticipated by family and friends. She had a knack for sewing outfits for ceremonies or just to be making something for someone especially the ribbon shirts.
Beverly is survived by her daughter Gloria Brown (Darel Grossman); grandchildren Jerika Shortman, Jordon Shortman, Linda Quincy, Darrelyn Grossman, and Seth Talks Different, numerous great grandchildren who she loved deeply. Those who are predeceased are her parents, her brothers Gerald Healy and Verdel Bell, her sons Patrick and Terrance. Beverly was married for 38 years to her soulmate Perry Brown. Besides her children, Beverly is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
