Beverly Anderson

Beverly Elaine (Borgen) Anderson, age 76, passed away Saturday August 8, 2026 at her home in Chinook Montana.

Bev was born July 17, 1950 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Harold and Gladys (Syversrud) Borgen. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1968, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota. It was there she met Joe Anderson from Red Wing, Minnesota. In 1970 Bev and Joe were married and moved to Red Wing where they farmed while Bev continued her education at University of Wisconsin- River Falls. Bev worked at the Red Wing Public Library, and after receiving her teaching certification, she taught in area schools including Red Wing where she specialized in Gifted and Talented Education. In 1987 they moved to Buffalo, Minnesota, where Bev continued her teaching career. In 2006 Bev retired from teaching and the family moved to Bertha, Minnesota where Bev worked part time at the library in nearby Eagle Bend. After Joe’s death in 2019 Bev relocated to Chinook, Montana to live near their son Karl.

Bev is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, and an infant daughter, Carina Marie Anderson. She is survived by her son Karl Anderson of Chinook, Montana, brothers-in-law Richard (Barbara) Anderson of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and John (Diane) Anderson of Tucson, Arizona, along with many cousins and many life-long friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Pottery Museum, 240 Harrison Street, Red Wing, Minnesota, with a light lunch and reception following the service.

A private burial is planned in Burnside Cemetery, Red Wing, Minnesota.
