Beatrice Marie (Stump) Waggoner

Beatrice Marie Stump Waggoner died on August 24th, 2026. She was born on May 20th, 1948, in Fort Belknap Indian Reservation to Leatrice and Fred Stump.

She attended Harlem High School until she graduated and later joined the United States Army, and that is how she met the love of her life, James Waggoner (her very own Hill Billie). They were both stationed in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The two were married for over 45 years until James passed away in 2022. They used to travel together throughout the years, and they would attend the pow-wows.

Beatrice loved her family so much, especially her sisters Loretta, Mona, Delores and her brother Levi Stump very much. Even though her and James couldn’t have children of their own, their nephew, Ehoka Stump, niece Mary Jo Lebeau, and grand-niece Mailee Lebeau came along, and they treated them like their own. They were very happy they were able to watch them grow up.

Beatrice worked as a police dispatcher for the Fort Belknap PD for 35 years until she retired so that she could stay home and take care of her husband and sister Loretta.

Beatrice was a good and loving person. She was a big hugger, and she had a big spontaneous laugh and sense of humor. She adored her co-workers and friends at the P.D. Some of her favorite things included pictures of Tigers and flowers. Her favorite colors were purple and green, and she loved collecting anything that was purple.

Beatrice is proceeded in death by her mother and father Leatrice and Fred Stump, brother Levi Stump, sisters Ramona and Loretta Stump, grandparents Jim Shawl and Mary Whitehtunder Shawl.
