The Angel is Called Home
Barbara Marie (Allery) Dunbar, age 69, of Whitewater was called home on May 26th. Service will be held June 8th at 10:00am at Wilderness Funeral Home. There will be a luncheon at Barbara and Pat’s lake home following.
Barbara was born December 29th, 1954, in Malta, MT to Mary (Sinclair) Allery and Fred Allery Jr. Barbara was the fifth of six children.
On March 16th 1973, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Archie Patrick Dunbar. In 1987 she pursued her higher education dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated in 1990 with her Registered Nursing Degree. She worked at Fort Belknap Hospital, Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital, Phillips County Hospital, Phillips County Nursing Home, Valley View Nursing Home, and various locations as a contract nurse. Barb always said that “nurses never retire”. She continued to use her knowledge and her gift of compassion for others until the day she was called home.
Barb truly had a passion for caring for others. She cofounded the friends of MOI with a group of other wonderful ladies to help fund needs for the group home in Malta where her brother lives. She oversaw the food booth at the Phillips County fair and enjoyed making it a booth that you would wanted to sit a spell. Her love had no bounds for her family and grandchildren. She followed her grandchildren from birth, being there for every event and success. Her thoughts and actions were always for others. She was a “mom” and “grandma” to many.
She is survived by her father, Fred Allery Jr.; siblings, Anna (Jerry) Flom, June (Richard – deceased) Wade, Susan (Ron) Kaess, Connie (Butch) Lovshin, and Freddie Allery III; Husband, Pat Dunbar; Daughter Sarah (Skub) Skubinna; Grandchildren, Korbyn and Emmett Skubinna.
