Barbara Cebulski Obituary

Barbara Ann Messerly Cebulski, 91, of Seeley Lake, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her home in Seeley Lake. Barbara was born on July 8, 1931, the first of ten born at the family ranch house on Beaver Creek, near Zortman to Pete Messerly and Fannie Shurlock Messerly. Barbara rode her horse from the ranch to Beaver Creek school through the 8th grade and then moved to Malta to attend high school, graduating in May 1949. Barbara was a member of the Assiniboine Indian Tribe. In the Spring of 1949 Barbara met Raymond Cebulski at a country dance. They married on September 17, 1949, in Malta and spent the first seven years of their married life on the Miller Brothers Ranch where Barbara raised their five children and cooked meals for 15 hungry ranch hands. The family eventually made their way to Clinton and, finally, Seeley Lake, where Barbara made many life-long friends. Barbara and Raymond were married for 73 years. Barbara enjoyed riding horses, camping, gardening, quilting, and cooking. She especially enjoyed trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness with family and friends. Barbara loved spending time with her family and her little dogs. Survivors include her husband Raymond of Seeley Lake, children Callilou (Tom) Baker of Missoula, Curtis (Sara) Cebulski of North Pole, Alaska, Wade (Geanette) Cebulski of Seeley Lake, Stuart Cebulski of Seeley Lake, and Beth (Tim) Medley of Cosmopolis Wa; 10 grandchildren, Carrie Nelson, Sandi O'Brien, Trevor Tompkins, Brandon Tompkins, Lindsey (Buzz) Scott, Raymond (Jennifer) Cebulski, Barry (Kendra) Cebulski, Calli Cebulski, Lane Cebulski, and Michaela York; and 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Morris (Caro) Ramsey and sisters Midge (Ray) McDonald, Dolores Messerly, and Etta Humbert. She was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Ramsey, her father Pete Messerly,  and siblings, Richard, Allan, Magee, Eddie Lou and Wilma.
