On a beautiful spring morning, while Anita was checking the lambs, her Lord and Shepherd took her by the hand and led her gently home on April 2, 2025.
Born on November 9, 1960, the 5th child to Roger Fred Ereaux and Allie (Cauffman), she joined siblings; Roger Dale (Brenda), James Howard, Shaune Marie (Don) Kuszmaul, Michael Fred (Nancy), Darcy Ann (Brian) Kirkhorn, Mark Allen, Donald Earl (Donna), Daniel Edward (Barbie), and Kenneth William (Kathy).
Anita attended school at St. Mary’s through 7th grade and completed her education at Malta, graduating in 1979. On August 25th she married the love of her life (Gilbert) Brian Green and they began their life together that would last for 45 years. They were blessed with three handfuls (aka sons) Jonathon (Jennifer), Marcus (Kendra) and Keith, and five of the grandest of grandchildren, Rosemary, Brian, Kayden, Casey and Garrett Green.
She was a worker. She had a varied work life, having worked for Buttreys (now Albertsons) for 21 years, the Post Office, Daniel’s Drug Store, Subway, and GN (housekeeping). She opened her own fabric store, “Gone to Pieces”. One of her hobbies was creating quilts and sewing products; she was a crafty lady and loved making things for others. Cooking at the school led her to a paraprofessional position which lasted 20+ years. As a para, she was known for her stern hand and teaching them basic life skills. Each spring she treated the 2nd grade classes to a farm tour with lambs, piglets, ducks, calves and horses, along with cats and dogs. A loving wife, and mom she was proud of her boys, encouraging them in sports and 4-H.
One of her favorite jobs was probably the one she enjoyed the most…being a grandmother, devoting her time nurturing, bonding, disciplining and guiding them. Most of all, she let them know how much she loved them. She had a big heart for family & kids.
One of the hardest times faced was her leaving without us saying “I love you”.
She will be missed by 18 nephews and 16 nieces and her in-laws, Kari Hould, Jeanie Green and Sherry and Dennis Young, who have been left in charge of keeping Brian lined out. Anita was greeted by her parents, Roger & Allie Ereaux, Brother-in-law Donald E. Kuszmaul, Brother & sister-in-law Donald & Donna Ereaux, Father & mother-in-law Dale & Fern Green, Brothers-in-law Loran Green, Sid Hould, Jean Green, and a niece Sarina (Green) Venable. She was also preceded by numerous aunts and uncles. She will be waiting to greet you when your time is called (and is planning on you coming the same direction).
A celebration of life will be Monday evening at the Old Gym at 7 pm. The Memorial service will be at 2 pm on Tuesday at the Old Gym. Anita’s ashes will be laid to rest beside her mother at the Malta Cemetery at a private family burial. Friends can gather immediately after the Memorial at the Old Armory and family will join them shortly after.
