Alphonse (Al) Michael Kroll, 94, of Malta, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Al was born in Bowlis, Minnesota on March 5, 1931 but spent most of his life in Montana.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruby Kroll; sons Kim Kroll and Douglas Kroll; brothers Cleetus and Vern Kroll; and sister Patricia Happke.
He is survived by his sister Priscilla (Joe) Maronick; brother Bob (Kay) Kroll; sisters-in-law Winona Kroll, Lorraine Watson and Erna Schlieve; daughter-in-law Kelly Kroll; grandchildren Avila Lagzdins, Traci Jamison, Katie (Derek) Cossey, David Kroll; great grandchildren Duke, Kennedy, and Dean Cossey; as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Al, a proud veteran of the Korean war worked over 40 years for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Al enjoyed playing cards with friends, helping out those around him, and wood working in the garage where he made colorful birdhouses that he shared with friends and family. He was a kind, generous man and will be missed by all.
A funeral will be held in Malta, MT at a future date.
